Promising entrepreneurs, tech startups, and creative gurus will be offered a sequence of events and effective exposure opportunities by Dubai CommerCity at the three-day RiseUp Summit 2019.
Dubai CommerCity, the first dedicated e-commerce free zone in the Middle East, North Africa, and South Asia (MENASA) region, will be present in the event which kicks off on 5 December this year at The American University (AUC) in Cairo, according to a press release on Monday.
RiseUp Summit 2019 will feature a series of talks, sessions, panels, and workshops focusing on the startup ecosystem in the region.
Dubai CommerCity will gather up hundreds of developers in several industry-related events to showcase innovative ideas in e-commerce digital inclusion with a contest on monetary rewards.
Assistant director general at DAFZA, Amna Lootah, highlighted, “Participating in RiseUp Summit 2019 will present us with the opportunity to further connect with SMEs in the region. Our aim is to help the participating startups to gain exposure and provide them with the opportunity to connect with investors and industry experts who are directly involved in the startup ecosystem.”
Hackathon sponsorship of Dubai CommerCity “comes in line with the free zone’s objective to support economic diversification and smart transformation strategies.”
Lootah added, “By hosting the hackathon at RiseUp Summit 2019, DCC reinforces its role of supporting SMEs from all around the globe to maximise their contribution to future diversification.”
Another event which Dubai CommerCity will be sponsoring is Pitch by the Pyramid, a regional pitch competition offering a platform for startups to showcase their innovative ideas while providing them with the relevant coaching and mentoring sessions on business basics, market intelligence, and growth planning.
